The most important yes of your life deserves the most beautiful stage in the city.
A marriage proposal on a boat in Barcelona is exactly that: the two of you, a private boat reserved for the occasion, the skyline against the light and a moment nobody interrupts. At Catvents we plan it with you in secret — from the hidden ring to the glass of cava after the yes — so all you have to think about is the words.
Closed proposal within 48 hours · no obligation · absolute confidentiality: the surprise stays between us.
Proposing on board sounds complicated and is really three steps. You bring the person and the ring; we bring the boat, the logistics and the conspiratorial silence.
Preferred date or slot (sunset, full moon, sunrise), how many of you — just the two of you or with family and friends hiding — and the details that move you: flowers, cava or champagne, photographer, dinner. With that we send you a closed proposal of boat, route and extras.
We agree the exact moment and the point of the route in front of the skyline with the skipper, hide whatever needs hiding and confirm with you by discreet message. If your partner asks, it is “a boat trip” — nothing more.
You board at Port Vell or Port Olímpic, sail along the Barceloneta and, when the light is perfect, the crew steps back and leaves you the stage. After the yes: a toast, photos and the rest of the cruise to celebrate on your own.
An instant that lasts seconds and is remembered for a lifetime. The golden Mediterranean light, the city behind you, the boat at rest and no hurry at all.
Recreation of the moment aboard one of our boats, with the W hotel and the Barceloneta in the background.
Every couple imagines their proposal differently. That is why we do not have “the proposal boat” but four different settings, all private and crewed. Click each one for photos, capacity and details.

VIP yacht or exclusive speedboat · fast and private
If you picture it with champagne in the cockpit of a yacht and the city lit up, this is yours; also on an exclusive speedboat.
See the VIP yacht in Barcelona →Prefer to compare the whole fleet before deciding? On our catamaran rental in Barcelona page and our private sailing trips in Barcelona you have every option — from the 12-seat sailing boat to the 125-guest catamaran — with photos, capacities and departures from Port Vell and Port Olímpic. And if the proposal goes by speedboat, here is the fast and exclusive speedboat in Barcelona.
The important part is yours. We make sure everything else is in place, without the effort showing.
A bouquet waiting on deck, petals on the bow or on the catamaran’s nets, or just a single flower: you set the tone. We place it right before you board.
Two chilled glasses ready for the toast to the yes. If you like, with strawberries, tapas or a full aperitif to keep celebrating during the cruise.
We can arrange a discreet photographer on board or from another boat, and drone footage with the city behind you. Without a photographer, the crew captures the moment with your phone.
Dinner at sunset, lunch in the midday light or a breakfast on the boat if the proposal is at sunrise: catering adapted to your tastes and allergies.
Your song playing at the right moment, warm lights at dusk, a “Will you marry me?” sign on deck or your partner’s name: tell us and we prepare it.
We hide your people on another boat or on the same one (on the 26-guest catamaran or the catamaran for 80 people) so they appear right after the yes. The reaction is guaranteed.
In Barcelona you can sail all year round, and each part of the day has its light. The most requested is sunset; the most intimate, the full moon and sunrise.
At sunset
Golden hour, the city lighting up and the best photos of the day. Afternoon departures returning to port after dark.

Under the full moon
One night a month, the sea in silver and the city behind you: the most romantic proposal, and the least expected.
See the full moon excursion in Barcelona →
At sunrise
The empty sea, first light over the skyline and breakfast on board: the calmest proposal, with no one watching.
See breakfast on a boat in Barcelona →Special dates — Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, an anniversary or a birthday — book up weeks ahead; the rest of the year, two or three weeks are usually enough. From April to October the temperature invites you to stay on deck until nightfall; from November to March the light is lower and cleaner and the boat’s heated interior does the rest: there is no bad season for a yes.
A proposal opens a season of celebrations. Many couples come back to us for the next chapter, so we leave it one click away.
Engagement party
Announce it as it deserves: music, aperitif and all your people sailing in front of the city.

Our proposals depart from Port Vell — a stroll from the Barceloneta and the city centre — or from Port Olímpic, next to the W hotel and the beaches. The usual route follows the city’s coastline: the Barceloneta, Port Olímpic, the line of beaches and, in the background, the Sagrada Família, Torre Glòries and Montjuïc. The skipper knows the spots where the city is best framed and the moment the light falls: that is where he gives you the agreed signal and retreats to the stern.
The standard departure lasts two hours, plenty of time to sail, for the moment and for the toast; if you want dinner, a swim in summer or to carry on into the night, we extend it to three or four. All year round, on a private boat with a professional crew: it is the same fleet we use for exclusive sailing trips in Barcelona for couples, families and companies from the heart of the harbour.
We know what is at stake. That is why, before the day arrives, everything is already resolved and all you have to do is enjoy it.
It depends on the boat, the duration and the extras. The private skippered sailing boat for two is the most accessible option; the exclusive catamaran, the classic sailboat and the yacht go up in price with capacity and service. Tell us how you imagine it and we send you a closed, no-obligation quote within 48 hours.
We coordinate everything with you through a discreet channel and instruct the crew to treat the departure as a normal boat trip. The details (flowers, cava, sign, photographer) are prepared before you board or hidden on the boat, and the skipper gives you an agreed signal when the moment comes.
Yes. We can hide them on the same boat (the 26-guest catamaran or the one for up to 80 people) or on another boat that approaches right after the proposal. It is one of the most moving variations.
Sunset is the most chosen for the light and the photos; the full moon and sunrise are the most intimate. You can sail all year: from April to October with the deck until nightfall, and in winter with cleaner light and the boat’s heated interior.
We check the forecast with you in the days beforehand. If the sea does not guarantee comfortable sailing, we move the departure to another slot or date keeping the surprise, according to the terms agreed at booking. Safety and comfort come before the calendar.
Yes: photographer and video (also with drone), dinner or aperitif with adapted catering, your music and decoration with lights, flowers or a sign. Everything is closed in the proposal so that on the day you only have to enjoy it.
From Port Vell or Port Olímpic, in the centre of Barcelona. The standard departure lasts two hours and can be extended to three or four if you add dinner, a swim in summer or want to carry on into the night.
For special dates (Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, summer anniversaries) book several weeks ahead; the rest of the year, two or three weeks are usually enough. Each boat and slot is devoted to a single proposal.
Some questions are only asked once. Ask it facing the sea.
